Asus ROG Strix Scar III G531GV is the dedicated gaming laptop of the Asus ROG series. Asus ROG scar 3 price in BD also comes with Digital Numpad. Computer Mania provides the best ROG scar 3 price in BD.

Asus ROG Strix G531 GT

The G531GT  stays one step below the Strix Scar series, but it carries the most of fine Strix Scar III design without a few elements like the security Keystone. The Scar-signature RGB bar at the bottom that now folds and runs though side edges, has made the cut. The lighting feels a bit over the top initially, but it rarely gets in the way and the underflow effect makes the Strix G431GT an attractive gaming laptop.

Things That Included Inside the Box

The Laptop packaging includes the laptop itself, some paper manuals and depending on your graphics card – a 150W or 230W charging brick.

Design and Build Quality

As a ROG device, the Strix G531GT has typically aggressive design features that ASUS state comes from the collaboration between them and BMW Design works Group. Whether this is true or it is just a marketing technique, we will leave for you to decide. However, all we know is that the all-plastic body actually feels sturdy enough. Additionally, this laptop is neither the thinnest nor the lightest you can get with its 26mm profile and 2.4 kg weight.
The build quality of the Rogi Strix G G531GT feels very stringent. The entire body of this laptop is constructed out of hard polycarbonate. There are a brush matte finish and straight-up lines on the entire body of the laptop which makes it look and feel more premium. There is a glossy ROG logo on the lid that does not light up but still manages to catch attention. The hinge and the keyboard of the laptop feel pretty solid. There is minimal to no flex in the keyboard whatsoever.

The laptop can be opened to around 130 degree which is decent considering the fact that it is a gaming-oriented device. There are quite thin bezels around a 15.6-inch display. One of the most eye-catching things about the laptop is a wraparound RGB light bar which illuminates the outer edge. The light bar gives this laptop a unique and cool look which most gamers would love to flaunt.

Nevertheless, this is not one of the most interesting topics to talk about the ROG Strix G531, so let’s move on. On the base of the device, you are looking at a NumPad-less keyboard with a decent layout, small arrow keys and some dedicated buttons on top of it. The keys themselves feel a little mushy, but the travel is long enough.

Additionally, ASUS has implemented the AURA RGB beneath it, while the WASD keys are left transparent.
Further below, you can see ASUS’ own work around the NumPad – they have taken the NumberPad from their ZenBook brand and placed it on the ROG Strix G531. Similarly, it turns on by placing your finger on the dedicated “Num Lock” location for a second – neet. Additionally, we were happy with the touchpad itself as it is accurate and quick, and also boasts dedicated mouse buttons. There is nothing much happening on the bottom apart from the huge ventilation grill that takes more than half of the area of the bottom plate. ASUS ROG Strix G531’s speakers are placed on the side, just above the LED strip that runs along the body of the device.

Port Availability

There is an interesting situation with the ports of this laptop. The ports are arranged on the back and on the left side of the device. With that said, on the back, we have an RJ-45 connector as well as an HDMI one and a charging plug. This is also where the optional USB Type-C 3.1 (Gen. 2) port with a DisplayPort support should sit. On the left side, there is no shortage of USB ports with three Type-A 3.1 (Gen. 1) ports and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Display Quality of the Laptop

The display on the Asus Strix G G531 is a 120Hz IPS Display Panel with 3ms response time. The display is good enough to be used indoors in a well-lit room, but the brightness is not that high. We don’t expect good sunlight eligibility with this display when you using this laptop outdoors. There is a matte coating on the laptop which does help reducing glares. However, the colors on this IPS Panel look pretty vivid and the blacks are good too.
The dedicated software which comes pre-installed with this laptop that allows you to play around with your display. There are adjustment options like white balance, colors and more. There are some predefined settings too for those of you who were wondering. That being said, the laptop lacks a webcam which might be a disappointment for some users.

We measured a maximum brightness of 282 nits in the middle of the screen and 260 nits as an average for the whole area, with a maximum deviation of 15%. The Correlated Color Temperature on a white screen is 7570K – slightly colder than the optimal for the sRGB standard of 6500K. The average color temperature through the greyscale before profiling is even warmer – 7550K.
In the image below you will see how the display performs from the point of view of uniformity. In other words, the leakage of light from the light source. E.0 should not be more than the value of dE2000 color-sensitive work and whether you want to use the laptop this parameter must first be verified. The contrast ratio is great – 1370:1

Gaming Performance and Benchmarks

The biggest attraction of the ROG Strix G-series is that it offers the latest 9th generation intel processor for competitive prices. Our unit is the top model in the Strix G lineup that’s powered by six-core Core i7-9750H clocked at 2.6GHz.
The CPU is further assisted by 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and 1TB Intel 660p QLC SSD. The display has a 120Hz refresh rate with the power chord plugged in (60Hz otherwise). Needless to say, the laptop can handle regular day-to-day usage and aggressive multitasking without breaking a sweat. To better gauge its performance, we ran a few synthetic benchmarks on the laptop. The ROG Strix G scored 1172 in Cinebench R20 multithread test and 177 in a single thread test. Crystal Disk Mark 6 returned sequential read and write speed of 1586.2 and 1649.5 respectively.

On 3D Mark Time Spy 2K the laptop scores 8735 and on 3D Mark Fire Strike, the Strix G531 scored 8560. These are respectable scores and pretty much on the lines of what was expected. As for gaming, Rise of Tomb Raider ran at 37fps at maximum settings and we could achieve maximum frame rates of around 70fps on one less than maximum settings. Far Cry 5 ran at around 50fps and Shadow of the tomb raider managed to deliver around 48fps at one less than maximum settings. So, unless you need to play at the highest possible settings, high-end games are very playable.

Battery and Audio Quality

The 48Whr battery on the Asus ROG Strix G531GT can last for more than 4 hours of basic usage that includes web browsing and media consumption. With gaming, the battery lasted for around 1 hour and 15 minutes, which is pretty decent. The bundled 150W charger takes around 1.5 hours to fully charge the battery.
The two 1.5W speakers on the laptop proved to be a tad underwhelming. The audio is loud and clear enough for watching movies when you are sitting right in front of the laptop but for gaming and pretty much all other purposes you’d need to use headphones.
